Books: Weekly Must Reads!

Jess Walter

Love stories in a novel seeming to be just like a movie when I read and envisioned it. This novel may just inspire you to push yourself to the limit and do things you never expect to do out of love. Sacrifices and patience is something I have learned from this. That even if it has been half a century of longing to be with the love of your life, you wait and just build up yourself to be a success until you have reached the moment of starting to look for your true love. Even about family that because you love them, you prioritize them above all things that inspite of every single thing that has happened, family is family.

E) Muesli or whole grain for breakfast plus chocolate covered blueberries

I notice that I lose weight very slow but the thing is instead of fats, they are evaporating (what a word to use I know haha!) and turning in to muscles! And muscles are actually heavier than fats to that's a great thing. I do not really aim for a light weight but I just want my body toned and seem firm! So all the exercises I'm doing is actually toning and losing weight just follows.

I do my work out every morning and if I'm home or in my village during sunset I go for a jog then (I usually go jogging when the sun is down or just about to rise so that don't get dark hehe. I love my light complexion :) ) And I don't really go to the gym anymore because I've tried it and damn. There was never any good results and I get so bored whenever I go there. That place. Ugh. Never again!

For you to get motivated do something that suits your liking! Something you'll enjoy and before you say no to whatever idea you have, try it first! There are tons of exercise you can do such as Zumba, dancing, boxing, martial arts, swimming, Plana Forma, aero dance, basketball and so much more! Just DONT quit. Keep on pushing yourself and you'll definitely reach your goal. I just takes real hard work and persistence to achieve your goal. NEVER get lazy or else boom. You'll never be able to achieve what you want to.

Finish: Toned legs, toned biceps and front arms, firm stomach showing slight abdominal muscle differentials

Movie Review: Iron Man 3

 Directed by: Shane Black

Starring:
Robert Downy Jr. as Tony Stark / Iron Man / The Mechanic
Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts
Don Cheadle as James Rhodes / War Machine / Iron
Guy Pears as Aldrich Killian

First and foremost I just have to say that the movie would not be complete if it weren't for the character of Gwyneth Paltrow, Pepper Potts. She was just so adorable and just the center of Tony Stark's life and they just have a delightful love story. So cute the two of them!! How they show their love for each other is just delightful and pretty realistic minus the being Iron Man of Tony Stark. Applause for Gwenyth Paltrow and Robert Downey Jr. for playing their roles real well! This calls for a Grammy nomination! Kidding!

The trailers has again failed me. I expected kind of a bit too much but nevertheless, the movie was superb! Very entertaining and full of light action. I must say though that the second Iron Man film will be the best among the three but how the love and affection of Tony and Pepper in this installment was just engaging! I fell absolutely in love with the two of them! They are definitely meant to be together how I wish though that they showed more lovey dovey scenes. Just kidding.

Great film! And by the way do not go out right away! Better wait for the credits to finish because there's a little sneak peak of what happens after the ending.

And so once again Marvel has produced a remarkable super-hero film. A definite must watch for everyone especially the Marvel and/or super-heroes film! Also watch out for the second installment of Thor! "Thor: The Dark World" (See trailer here)

2013 TV Series: Hannibal

Hannibal 2013

NBC'c newest television series Hanibal premiered its pilot episode last April fourth. Created by Bryan Fuller who is known for also creating the television series Heroes and Star Trek back in 2006 and 2000 respectively.

Hannibal is a psycho-crime series. Its leading actor Hugh Dancy as Professor-special agent Will Graham.

He plays the protagonist in the story, a professor in the F.B.I. academy turned special agent cause he has this extraordinary type of thinking where he is able to figure out how a killer thinks and discovers what happens in crime scenes. The thing is, he acts very odd. He is sort of haunted by the crimes he solves or is working on. Haunted not in the scary way but in a traumatized way if you get what I mean.

As he works in the agency, he is ordered to see a specialist or a psychiatrist for him because he has this past where he was eaten up by the haunting things that he has seen.
Now he is all better and his boss just wants to keep him in tact and steady. He meets Dr. Hannibal Lecter played by Madds Mikkelsen known for Casino Royale, King Arthur and Clash of the Titans.

But there seems to be something odd as well with Dr. Lecter. In the pilot episode he is shown cooking then having dinner while cannibalism is being discussed.

That's what got me curious. It seems like the real criminal is just in front of their eyes. But nothing is assured.

Better watch out for this series and keep on watching to know who the real cannibal is.

Fashion: Pull Overs

Sweaters? I call 'em pull overs. They are seriously one of the most comfortable tops I have ever worn in my entire life! You can wear them over any clothing or nothing at all! You can even match them up with anything. Skirts, shorts, jeans, leggings or even dresses. The look is laid back, chill and yet very chic depending on how you wear them and what you pair it with.

Here are some ideas how to pull them off:

Pull Overs matched with black ripped trousers. Add on a couple of accessories and you can definitely pull the look anywhere!

A classy thick knit sweater matched with white trousers and a pair of sexy heels. A classy demure look great for cool dinner dates, movie night out or even girls' night out!

A bodycon dress topped with a cool pullover. Sexy yet a little toned down. Gives a sexy girl look with a touch of gangsta-boyish feel.

For a casual look, you can pair the pull overs with and kind of shorts whether silk, jeans, cotton or even leather!

To level up to the casual look, you can match pull overs with skirts! I love pairing skirts with oxfords or just flats if you're not much into the oxford shoes. Very smart casual looking.

Movie Review: Olympus Has Fallen

http://www.ktdt.com.vn/Admin/TrinhSoanThao/editor/filemanager/connectors/aspx/UploadFiles/image/A2013/HH/T3/14/olympus-has-fallen.jpg

Directed by: Antoine Fuqua

Starring:
Gerard Butler as Mike Banning
Aaron Eckhart as President Asher
Morgan Freeman as Speaker Trumbull & Acting President

Absolutely brilliant and thrilling! An action filled movie that is a must see. Kinda brutal that is why it is rated R-13 but what the heck! A still must watch especially if you are a dude you would definitely enjoy this film.

Okay so this movie just kept me on my bottoms the whole time! So much action and you just want to stare at Gerard Butler and hope he shows his perfectly built, muscular behind! hihi. And damn how he moves! He is perfect for action film. I was actually for hoping for him to flash his perfectly built muscular behind! It is so perfect his girlfriend Madalina Ghenea is way too lucky!!!

Gerard Butler's character in this film is so smart and slightly cocky at the same time. He loves working in the White House and he would do just anything to keep the job and keep the safety of President Asher and his family and of course the United States of America. Though Aaron Eckhart as the President of the United States does not really suit him (well for me). I still kinda see him as the villain in every film like in The Dark Knight. He just seems like he has the anti-superhero a.k.a. bad guy look! But job well done in portraying his character.

There are some parts that need something kaboom-ing but still!! What a great film.  I won't go to deets anymore but I definitely love this film and recommending it to everyone!

Fitness: No To Missing Breakfast

Never skip breakfast again! Studies show that breakfast is the most important meal of the day because you break the fasting you do when you sleep at night. A small breakfast meal makes a big difference with how your body and brain would work for the day. Your system needs enough nutrients to keep you going and how you start your day affects how it would go the whole day. So if you wanna have that great free spirited day, go ahead and have your breakfast. Remember to eat a healthy meal wether it's for breakfast, lunch, snacks or dinner. A healthy choice of food will show on how your body is.

Movie Review: Oblivion

http://www.thehollywoodnews.com/wp-content/uploads/oblivion-poster.jpg

Directed by: Joseph Kosinski

Starring:
Tom Cruise as Jack Harper
Morgan Freeman as Malcolm Beach

Futuristic as it may seem since the movie is set on earth in the year 2077. Such as long time from twenty-thirteen right? And another movie where Tom Cruise' character is named Jack just like in his 2012 film Jack Reacher HAHA. I honestly never liked any Tom Cruise movie. They all seem to be... corny and bland. Yes he is pretty good at being an action star. He was good in The Last Samurai and his film with Cameron Diaz Knight and Day but as an actor for me, he is not that great but just o k.

I honestly had a hard time understanding the film because it lacked giving some information like what were their aims??? Like seriously I do not usually have a hard time understanding movies and it is a rare case when that happens but with this movie, my mind was in a whirlpool trying to understand the story. But I tried my best on understanding it and I would really want to watch it another time not because I loved it or something but for me to go back to some of the scenes to fully understand the story. And if you do watch it, I bet you would want to watch it twice or even thrice to understand the story.

The movie is a futuristic one where there was an invasion not really sure if it were aliens but there was a war between humans and 'aliens' but in the end the humans won but the earth was ruined due to the war they were in. So they had to rehabilitate the earth but it was not possible due to the immense damage that has been done to the planet so they had to live in a different one. What they are doing now is using up the sea water that goes through some mechanism that is turned in to something that they vitally need in order to live in Saturn (?). But then the twist comes in like is this really for the humans or what? There's something fishy going on when a blast comes in and Jack Harper goes in and checks it and secrets are revealed and that is when the real action begins.

If someone were to watch it for the first time I am definitely telling people not spending that much money for this kinda long weird mind boggling movie. Just wait for it to be shown on HBO or Star Movies or wherever HA HA

Movie Review: The Host

Diane Kruger as The Seeker

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0fuCu-C0WFk/UPtvIM8PHAI/AAAAAAAAAvQ/Kz3SOyhQBN8/s1600/thehostposter.png

W A R N I N G ! CONTAINS SPOILERS

The leading guy, Max Irons, in this movie is too gorgeous and hot! The way he moves is just so manly. Haha and so that is kind of the reason why I watched the movie. And to tell you honestly, the trailer was pretty enticing.

I remember reading this novel and my eyes were just woah. This is too much of a thick book! It's like Twilight times two! (because of the small texts I guess) And the first two chapters I just found boring so I ended up not finishing the book.

Going back to the film, it was pretty interesting cause the title is the perfect title for the story. It's not the typical host that one may think about but it's the host of a prey. Scientifically speaking, it goes down to the ecological relationships where it is a symbiotic relationship but with a mixture of parasitism and commensalism because the prey (which are the aliens) sometimes harms their hosts which are the humans.

If you are in to light futuristic, aliens invasion end of the world movies this is something you might want to watch. In the film, it was all about aliens inhabiting and making earth a better place as so the aliens say. But of course since it is an invasion, a lot of people resist from being inhabited by those aliens and letting them stay on planet earth. The thing is in order for the alien to be able to "live" it needs a body as a host. Somewhere it can live. So that is where the prey host relationship pops in. The aliens go in to the human's bodies and they live there. So that's kind of the reason why they have glowing eyes.

The story is unquestionably good but the movie... well it was pretty good as well. Of course not better than the book! Their setting is just amazing and the movie would be better if they showed how much more futuristic it really is since it has been years since the aliens inhabited the earth. The chosen actors were actually good ones. They are not the super known ones except for Diane Kruger who is the antagonist in the story but still they have done well on playing their roles. I just have to spoil that Emily Browning made a quick appearance and damn they made her look so ugly and I just could not take it! She is such a beautiful woman and damn those make up artists for making her look not her best!! Just frustrating how they made her look that way errr.

Summer Fashion: On the Go!

Polo + Shorts + Comfy shoes = Go go summer!

This kind of outfit is the way to go! It's comfy, fresh and fashionable all at the same time.
This get up will definitely suit any place you'll be heading for the summer. Wether it's the beach, road trips, sightseeing, lunch out and anything else! It's just you who would pick what kind and color of polo to match with your shorts wether it's denims, cotton, leather or whatever! It is also up to you if you would opt for a short sleeved polo, three fourths or long sleeved ones.

Should you add a couple of accessories to it and it surely would seem more you!
It is YOUR creativity that works when you dress up every single day. Well not unless you are a student headed to school and is required to wear some sort of uniform to school five to six times a week ha ha! But still your creativity is shown with how you wear your uniform and the shoes and bags you choose to use.

Never forget to add a little bit of touch to every outfit to spice it up cause it would be the one thing to make the look seem more YOU. And that is what you want other people to see.

It's so good for the soul and mind to hear "That outfit is so you! 👍

And remember:

“Always dress like you are going to see your worst enemy.”
— Kimora Lee Simmons

Translation: Always dress and look your best!! (Even if you're just going to the market. You never known who you'd bump in to!)

You can never go wrong matching polo with denim shorts!

Long sleeves polos can look really formal at times but when you mix it up with shorts or folding it up to seem like a three fourths is just a classy summer look!

Chiffon blouses paired with cut offs are so fashionable! Especially when you add up accessories

Hues

It was a big surprise for me when my dad allowed me to dye my hair. He was always against it but it was so sudden when he agreed dyeing my hair! I was super excited for me when he said that sweet 'Yes'. And it did not took long until I dyed it cause he might suddenly change his mind haha! I had my first hair dyed summer of 2012. Well I actually got it bleached so I had that blonde hair but only half of my hair no the "under hair". A couple of months passed I dyed it brown but leaving my tips blonde. Ombré is what it's called. I loved it!! For six months I've had the same hair and now, I think it's time to dye it again. I've always loved brown hair and highlights just attracts my eyes! So I checked a couple of celebrities having brown to blonde hair getting ideas. And I slimmed them down to four celebs namely:

1. Sophia Bush
2. Elizabeth Olsen
3. Olivia Palermo
4. Leighton Meester

I love their hair and I actually have long mermaid hair as of now and my sad suggested for me to cut it. I love my long hair so much but I think he's right that medium length hair suits me better.

Summer Escapade

I am a Filipina by the way and as of now it's a hot hot summer here in the Philippines and it is also my summer break and there are a lot of places I wanna go to to make my summer meaningful and not dull! I love traveling and ever since I was a little kid, I have dreamt of being a doctor and traveling. I get so hyped up and filled with adrenaline whenever I'm on a voyage

Firstly, I have heard about the great city of Bicol and the great beaches there. Number one on my list is CARAMOAN, CAMARINES SUR

Caramoan is a place filled with different beautiful islands and in order to be able to reach those islands you have to hire a boatman to tour the whole place. I have been told that not all the beaches-islands are all beautiful but most of them are. Many people have said that this beats Hundred Islands, Boracay and even Palawan! Soft white sand, great view, exciting boat rides, aquamarine sea, and a lot more is what Caramoan offers! It is a must see/go-to said so my cousin and I just wish we would be able to plan a getaway and go there!

Second is PALAWAN. Okay they have said that if you go to Caramoan you shouldn't go to Palawan anymore but I say no! I still wanna get there and be able to experience the great boat rides to Puerto Princessa, Coron and El Nido. I wanna seethe underground river and reach Palawan. As of this summer it's the number one tourist spot in the Philippines. It's such a great, clean and peaceful place the Philippines is proud of. And take note, it's one of the finalist of the seven wonders of the world: nature! ;)

Pilot

I have thought about more than a hundred blog names to use. EmeraldSky. DiamondSky. AnonymousAndPeculiar. EmeraldGaze. EmeraldBlues. DiamondSeat. Those are some to name a few. Sadly all those that I wanted are all taken so I ended up using this: EMERALDLOOK

I am not too happy and ecstatic about my blog name but what the heck at least I have finally chosen one and I have started composing my very first blog post :) I just want to be able to express myself and my thoughts, dreams and share whatever is in my mind. Show myself as who I am, energetic, adventurous, shy (at certain situations), high-spirited and other things.

Confession #1 I am no good of a writer. When I was younger I did keep diaries and also a dream notebook. I do write my own paper assignments like my essays, reports and the like but other than that, I have never written anything else. With this blog, I do hope that I will be able to enhance my writing capabilities and hopefully mold myself in being a not so bad writer

Confession #2 I have had two or three failed blogs. One of them was a fashion blog where I posted my #OOTD and other stuff about fashion (Don't worry I have put them down already). I but the thing is when I created those blogs, I just compose and post drafts and that is it. I have never had the strength to publish them because..

Confession #3 I am afraid. I am the type of person who is petrified of those judgmental eyes/stares and consuming thoughts! They always seem to lower my level of self-esteem. (Well okay not entirely but they make me so conscious of myself!) I am still actually scared of how people (even though I do not personally know them) would think and how pretentious they think of me if I created a blog because it is kind of THE thing for the past year. But now I think I am able to do this so here I go! But then here's the catch: I am keeping my identity concealed. I may unconsciously give hints on who I am with my posts but not entirely revealing who I am to keep the secrecy and all that.

Confession #4 I feel like it's my time to shine!!!! I have always wanted to have a real blog and I guess this is my time. With my hectic schedule in life, I just hope that I would be able to maintain this blog and be able to update it daily. Well hopefully!

I know I am kinda too honest (and I think that I appear to be a little weak) and all that but what the hell. This is my blog and I can post whatever I want to!!! Freaking time to do whatever haha. K I am kidding! I just want to be able to express myself. I know that I'm no good writer and if ever I do get feedbacks, I'd be thankful that someone even spared the time to read what I have written.

P.S. I may be posting more than one post a day. Sorry in advanced for all the annoyance or whatever! Kudos!
